Top Ways to Eat Healthy on the Go

Being prepared for “grab n go”  is the key to healthy eating with a busy lifestyle. You want foods that provide both protein and a complex carbohydrate which will satisfy your hunger and sustain your energy. No assembly required, quick, healthy, and easy! Keeping your pantry or fridge stocked with these will give you food to grab on your way out the door.

  • Bag of mini carrots, tub of hummus
  • Brown rice or oat cakes and cheese (pre-sliced low-fat cheese, or string cheese)
  • Whole grain crackers and beef or turkey jerky
  • Whole grain crackers and cottage cheese
  • Almonds and an apple and/or orange
  • Tuna pouch and pita bread
  • Chop vegetables in advance and place in baggies.
  • Slice cheese and meats ahead of time.
  • Wash fruits ahead of time.
  • Keep a few boiled eggs in the fridge

To make this on the go lifestyle easier, always have lunch bags on hand and keep a supply of napkins and plastic ware in your car, backpack, briefcase, or purse

When you do find yourself out without a snack or lunch, a great option, to avoid fast food, is a quick stop at your local grocery. Nearly all groceries have single serving salads, some even salad bars, and most have a deli and deli sandwiches. For those times when fast food is a must, consider deli sandwiches on whole grains, skip the mayo, and pile on the veggies. Healthy eating is easy, fun and with little planning can become a way of life.

In short Yes, they can eat boiled eggs for protein.
Bugs are the best source of protein for a baby bird but since I have a hard time catching them I feed them scrambled eggs too. The only way I can catch many bugs is at night around yard lights.
I try to feed my chicks naturally and antibiotic free and feed them scrambled eggs and oatmeal(plain old fashioned oats not instant) I give it to them dry and I soak it in buttermilk, they like it and do well on it. BUT I have my own milk cow and make my own buttermilk, when you have to buy it, $$ it might not be a great idea(I don't know what buttermilk sells for). When I don't have buttermilk I use water I just pour it together and in a couple minutes it is mush.
I offer them the grains I feed my Adults too: whole milo, oats, wheat, sunflower seeds & rolled barley.
green grass & sand. Sand works to grind their food like our teeth do for us.

That is the way my mom taught me to feed chicks, the way she did 30 years ago, on scrambled eggs & oatmeal. Works great!

Dr. Hagiwara’s Carrot Essence captures two of nature’s best antioxidants, beta carotene and vitamin C in a delicious beverage powder. The fresh organic carrots are harvested at their nutritional peak, washed, juiced, and then spray dried in a temperature controlled manner to stabilize their nutrients. Maltodextrin, a complex carbohydrate, is added to coat and protect the delicate nutrients from harmful oxidation. Carrot Essence also contains acerola, a natural source of vitamin C made with the acerola cherry. Carrot essence provides over 300% of the RDI of Vitamin A as beta carotene in a single serving. Vitamin A is important for maintaining healthy skin, eyesight, and immune system function. It is also essential for promoting strong teeth and bones and is vital for healthy liver function. Suggested Use Dissolve three teaspoons into a 6 oz. glass of water for a refreshing carrot
