Are you concerned about eating healthy in college? You should be worried! No matter what school you go to, there is a good chance you’re going to gain some weight unless you’re careful. If you’re already out of shape, the chances of gaining weight increase even more unless you take steps to get things under control. From stress to lack of time, there are many factors that cause college kids to not eat healthy. Here are some tips to make sure you eat healthy in college – even if you don’t eat too healthy now!
- Avoid Fast Food - While a burger, fries and a “diet Coke” may seem convenient and healthy, fast food goes a long way in causing you to gain weight.
- Drink More Water - Even if it’s free water that you filter yourself, drinking more water is important. Avoid the temptation to drink soda or coffee all day and night. Make sure you get at least eight glasses a day.
- The Right Time - You should eat more in the morning (when you need the energy) and less late at night when you’re up studying and are about to fall asleep. This is a hard habit to break, but it can go a long way in helping you stay healthy in college.
- Make the Time - This is probably the best tip to make sure you eat healthy while you’re in college. If you take the time to make your health a priority, you’re going to have a better chance at avoiding the “Freshman 15″ – the alleged number of pounds most college kids put on while in school.
