<p>The number one thing you need to do for improving how you feel about yourself is to determine to act. You will feel powerful, and hopefully a little positive, if you learn more about self esteem. Of course, you must not anticipate to change into a new person overnight. Little by little you will observe results, if you stick with it.</p>
<p>Then, you just begin by increasing your consciousness about your views. As you go through your day, observe your emotions carefully. You&#8217;ll start to be cognizant of habitual thinking processes. How can you find out what changes to make until you know what your present habits are?</p>
<p>There are a lot of ways to go about it, and each one has its advantages. A good place to begin is with your general outlook. Begin to look for what is going correctly in your day. Make it a practice to replace terrible thought you notice with a good one. Find time to do certain techniques. Just recall something specific you have done that went the right way. When we search for good things, we see them. You can pick out the littlest thing to feel great about. A single good thought will lead to another.</p>

<p>Gum disease is also known as periodontal disease. Gum disease occurs when the tissues and bones that surround the teeth become infected. A condition known as gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease. Gingivitis is gum inflammation which is due to plaque build-up. As gingivitis worsens and infection sets in, periodontitis occurs in the second and final stage of gum disease. Periodontitis can lead to permanent damage of the teeth and surrounding tissue. <span id="more-1152"></span></p>
<h3><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1154" title="3488681_blog" src="http://www.healthcourage.com/wp-content/uploads/3488681_blog.jpg" alt="" width="285" height="190" />Symptoms of Gum Disease</h3>
<p>The symptoms of gingivitis include red, tender and swollen gums. Brushing or flossing the teeth usually causes the gums to bleed easier than normal. When periodontitis occurs, the gums usually pull away from the teeth. Pockets may form as a result of the formation of space between the teeth and the gum line. The individual with periodontitis may notice pus around the gum line, loose teeth and bad breath. The alignment of the teeth may also be affected and this can create an improper bite. If an individual wears dentures, the dentures may no longer fit.</p>
<h3>Causes of Gum Disease</h3>
<p>The main cause of <a href="http://www.gumdisease.co.uk/" target="_blank">gum disease</a> is plaque build-up. However, there are other contributing factors to gum disease. Diseases such as diabetes, HIV or cancer can contribute to gum disease. Other factors include poor oral hygiene, hormonal changes in women and family history. Certain medications such as Procardia, Dilantin and Adolat may cause gum disease. Smoking can also cause damage to the gums.</p>
<h3>Prevention of Gum Disease</h3>
<ol>
<li>The most important source of prevention is good oral hygiene. This prevents the build-up of plaque which leads to gum disease. The person should brush the teeth twice daily. This can be done in the morning and at bedtime. It is important to use toothpaste which contains fluoride. The teeth need to be flossed at least once a day. Along with daily dental care, the person needs to visit a dentist for teeth cleaning and dental checkups at least twice a year or more frequently if needed.</li>
<li>If the individual smokes or uses chewing tobacco, he or she is at an increased risk of developing gum disease. Due to this risk, it is recommended that the individual stop smoking or chewing tobacco.</li>
<li>Another way of preventing as well as treating gum disease is by eating a well-balanced and healthy diet. Good nutrition habits help the body’s immune system combat infections that may result due to gum disease. Antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E can help repair the tissue which has been damaged as a result of gum disease. Food sources of vitamin C include broccoli, citrus fruits and potatoes. Food sources of vitamin E include green leafy vegetables, nuts and vegetable oils.</li>
<li>Gum disease may also occur as a result of grinding and clenching the teeth. If an individual is prone to grinding teeth, there are oral devices which can be used to prevent further damage to the teeth and gums.</li>
</ol>
<p>Gum disease, or periodontal disease, is a condition which may arise as a result of poor oral hygiene habits or other contributing factors. If an individual notices any of the symptoms listed above occurring, he or she should see a dentist for proper treatment of the gum disease. This is especially important if the gum disease has progressed to infection of the gums and periodontitis.</p>

<li>Green Tea – Studies show you can burn 35-43% more fat during the day when you drink 3-to-5 cups of green tea</li>
<li>Water – You can burn an extra 250-to-500 calories a day by drinking 8-to-10 glasses of ice cold water because your body has to burn calories (or fat) in order to heat the ice cold water back up to your body temperature so basically you can lose 1lb a day just by drinking ice cold water. Water is very important for life, including weight loss. It’s very clean, just helps the body filter out dirt, and does not contain calories.</li>

<li><strong>Blueberries </strong>- Rich in antioxidants, these small berries are packed with energy to help you burn fat quickly.</li>

<p>It seems that every week another new miracle diet comes out that promosies to help you lose those excess pounds effortlessly. That is one of the biggest problems with fad diets. People get sucked into whatever scheme is the latest and never lose a pound for their money.</p>

<p>One example of a fad diet that started years ago but is still heard of today is the Cabbage Soup Diet. According to the rules of this diet, you mix up a special Cabbage Soup that includes other vegetables. This soup can be eaten as often and as much as desired. However, each day has a certain type of food that you can eat on that day and nothing else EXCEPT that particular food along with the Cabbage Soup. <p>Eating healthy when you are single can be a bit of a challenge, but if you keep a few basic foods on hand, you can prepare quick healthy meals and snacks. Here are just a few of the types of foods that are good to keep on hand if you want to eat healthy. With these few essential items, you can create quick easy healthy meals for one.</p>

<h3>Eating Healthy to Lose Weight</h3>
</div>
<ul>
<li>Cooked turkey breast, or ham</li>
<li>Crackers (high quality whole grain crackers)</li>
<li>Cheese (real cheese in a chunk)</li>
<li>Low fat milk</li>
<li>Eggs</li>
<li>Low fat sour cream</li>
<li>A couple quality light dressings with olive oil</li>
<li>Fresh fruit</li>
<li>Crisp  salad veggies</li>
<li>Frozen chicken breasts</li>
</ul>
<p>Shopping more frequently for a just a few fresh items will prevent waste and spoilage. Try shopping at a local farmers market that sells individual fruits and veggies, (so you do not buy too many ahead of time.)</p>
<p>You should also try to find a nice local market for meats and dairy. By keeping some individually frozen meats on hand, you can quick thaw and toss them on the grill (indoor counter top grills work great) and just that easy, you will have fresh, healthy meals.</p>
<p>In thinking of other ways to lose weight other than food intake you first think of physical activity. To prevent injuries during exercise, your body needs to stay hydrated.</p>
<p>By lowering your caloric intake and increasing water consumption and physical activity you are sure to lose weight. It will not be easy but the hard will pay off. Ultimately, you will feel that you have more energy, will feel better about yourself, and will then make healthier choices to maintain the positive feeling.</p>
<p>Losing weight is more than losing weight. It leads to a lifestyle change not just with behavior but on a psychological and emotional level as well.</p>

<li>Green Tea – Studies show you can burn 35-43% more fat during the day when you drink 3-to-5 cups of green tea</li>
<li>Water – You can burn an extra 250-to-500 calories a day by drinking 8-to-10 glasses of ice cold water because your body has to burn calories (or fat) in order to heat the ice cold water back up to your body temperature so basically you can lose 1lb a day just by drinking ice cold water. Water is very important for life, including weight loss. It’s very clean, just helps the body filter out dirt, and does not contain calories.</li>
<li>Hot Peppers – One fat burning food for men that will speed up your metabolism is hot peppers.</li>
<li>Beans – Beans may not seem like a traditional diet food, but it works as one on many levels. Beans work as appetite suppressants, by helping you feel full longer. Beans also pack a big dose of fiber and protein, for very little calories, making it a great fat burning food.</li>
<li>Soup – One of the best diet foods for men is lower calorie, broth or tomato based soups.</li>
<li>Cereal – High fiber, whole-grain cereal is a great fat burning food option, for breakfast or a snack.</li>

<p>A cardio workout may not be the best way to burn fat. Here are some other workout ideas instead.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Weights </strong>- This is one of the big three exercises for a reason. You want to make sure you do the right types of exercises with the appropriate weights and doing the right number of reps, but bench presses and other exercises with weights should be part of your plan.</li>
<li><strong>Hanging leg raises</strong> – You should do 3 sets of 20 reps each for each workout session. These are going to be difficult, but with no pain there’s no gain.</li>
<li><strong>Plank Twists</strong> – You should do 2 sets of 25 on each side of your body for the best effect.</li>
<li><strong>Stomach Crunches </strong>- You are going to want to increase the number of reps as you progress, but crunches are the best way to get started losing your stomach fat and sculpting those abs.</li>
